DANCE WITH ME (2 - 3y) - 8 week Sessions

Introduce your child to the joy of movement with our "Dance with Me" class! Designed to be both fun and educational, this program encourages kids to explore, develop physically, and tap into their imagination. Through child-friendly music, they'll get to experience various rhythms and emotions. This foundational class provides them with the skills and confidence they need to pursue any dance style in the future. Come join us for a dance-filled adventure that your child will truly appreciate!

For the younger dancers, we do what we can to keep them excited! Here at Alina Ballerina, we love implementing themes. Our dancers enter an enchanted land of magic and make believe while learning ballet.

CLASSICAL BALLET  - VAGANOVA SYLLABUS (5 & up)
 

Ballet is recognized as one of the world's most elegant dance forms, known for its demanding nature. It serves as the foundation for various other dance styles. As students immerse themselves in ballet, they acquire discipline, refine posture, embody grace, and grasp essential ballet terms, all while mastering fundamental movements accompanied by classical music.

Studying with a qualified ballet teacher is important for a child’s health and safety. The syllabus of the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method, has been attentively developed to ensure a steady, careful technical and artistic progression from one level to the next.
Dancers wishing to participate in exams with the Society of Classical Ballet (Vaganova Method), may do so by invitation from the Artistic Director.

GYMNASTICS/ RHYTHMICS/ MUSICALITY

(7 & up)

 

Our focus is on cultivating foundational concepts from classical ballet, paving the way for optimal upper-body alignment and technique. The class integrates floor exercises for enhanced turnout and flexibility. Additionally, students delve into the nuances of musical tempos relative to balletic movements, fostering coordination, musical interpretation, and expressive precision.

CHARACTER DANCE (7 & up)

 

Included in prominent ballet productions, character dances are stylized ballet routines inspired by national, ethnic, and folk dance customs. They play a crucial role in classical ballet performances like Swan Lake, Don Quixote, and Sleeping Beauty.

In these classes, dancers start with a specifically designed barre routine tailored for character training. They then delve into a range of dance styles, including Hungarian, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, and Italian, based on their proficiency level.

CONTEMPORARY (7 & up)

 

Contemporary dance is about expressing emotion through organic movements and unrestricted lines.  It combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.

LYRICAL (7 & up)

JAZZ (5 & up)

 

Drawing from the foundational elements of classical ballet, this class engages students in the lively and dynamic world of jazz. Participants will grasp essential jazz techniques, emphasizing the nuances of movement both in center exercises and across the floor. With a blend of popular music and age-appropriate selections, dancers will refine skills like kicks, jumps, turns, and flexibility.

TAP (5 & up)

 

These classes focus on mastering precise foot movements, rhythms, and engaging routines. Students move from traditional tap steps to modern styles, discovering the depth and flexibility of tap dance. The main goals are to improve coordination, feel the music, and enjoy the fun of tap dancing.

ACRO (4 & up)

 

Tailored for those eager to blend strength, flexibility, and artistic finesse, this class emphasizes two core areas. Initially, students develop essential acrobatic skills such as tumbling, balance, and partner lifts. Concurrently, they integrate these skills seamlessly into dance routines, enhancing transitions, choreography, and overall performance quality.

MUSICAL THEATRE (7 & up)

 

Tailored for those eager to blend strength, flexibility, and artistic finesse, this class emphasizes two core areas. Initially, students develop essential acrobatic skills such as tumbling, balance, and partner lifts. Concurrently, they integrate these skills seamlessly into dance routines, enhancing transitions, choreography, and overall performance quality.

HIP HOP (7 & up)

 

Immerse yourself in the urban pulse of Hip Hop! This class focuses specifically on foundational hip-hop techniques, energetic grooves, and the art of freestyle. Students will navigate the rhythm, style, and attitude intrinsic to hip-hop culture, fostering creativity and individuality in their dance expressions.

K-POP (7 & up)

 

Enter the dynamic universe of K-Pop Dance! Students will engage with iconic choreography, lively movements, and performances reminiscent of Korean pop sensations. This class hones popular routines, intricate dance techniques, and the infectious energy synonymous with K-Pop culture.
